Salvatore Scarafone

President - Head Coach

Coach Sal is a track and cross country athlete who still enjoys running and competing. He is a loving husband to his wife, Laura, and a Papa to his daughter, Catalina. He is a cancer survivor who never slowed down.

Coach Sal is an Executive MBA graduate from Pepperdine University, USATF Level 2 Sports Science and U20 certified coach, USATF Cross Country specialist, and he is Safe Sport trained. Coach Sal has coached Archdiocese of Philadelphia champions, Top 5 National Cross Country athletes, 20 All-Americans, and his 2023 and 2024 Indoor Track teams won back-to-back championships.

Sal is also the high school head coach for track and cross country at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy (Inter-Ac & PAISAA).

Family is everything to Coach Sal. He spends his days working with his cousins as their construction company’s Director of Business Development. He has been blessed with loving parents, an older sister, and great friends coast to coast. Learn More

Aireyona Mason

Assistant Coach - Sprints & Hurdles

Coach Mason is a former athlete who brings over 10 years of track & field experience to our team. From elementary school through high school, she performed extremely well and competed at championship meets in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m, 4x200m, 4x400m, and 300m hurdles.

Coach Mason is certified by USATF as a Developmental Coach and she is SafeSport trained.

Off the track, Coach Mason is studying corporate law at West Chester University. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Wilmington University.

Coach Mason is a loving mother of twin girls, E’Mani and E’Niyah, as well as, a baby boy named Tyreek. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Assistant Coach - Distance & Relays

Michael Tornatela

Coach Mike has over six years of track and cross country coaching experience in the Philadelphia CYO league. As an athlete, he competed for over 10 years in all sprints from the 100m to the 400m, while also contributing on relay teams.

Mike recently coached two CYO Penn Relay championship teams in 2023 and 2024 - the 1st two in school history, which dates back over 50 years.

Coach Mike is certified by USATF as a Developmental Coach, and he is SafeSport trained.

Coaching has always been a passion even outside of running and includes soccer and basketball. His two daughters, Lexi & Viviana, run for Godspeed. When his daughters are not running or playing other sports, family time includes traveling and hiking. Outside of sports, Coach Mike is a partner in a consulting firm, mainly performing CFO activities for his clients.

Assistant Coach - Trainer

Brendon Scott

Coach Brendon served six years in the US National Guard (1999-2005) and during that time he was deployed to Kosovo.

Coach Brendon is a tremendous athlete and running sport enthusiast. He has been coaching with Godspeed for over two years and he is a member of our coaches/parents 4x100m relay team. He is USATF Level 1 Certified and Safe Sport trained.

Brendon enjoys spending time with his family hiking and traveling. He currently works for the Sheet Metal Workers Local 19, and anyone who meets him is always impressed by his positive personality.

Developmental Coach

Adam LeGrand

Coach Adam was drawn to organized running through his son’s interest in the sport. He has been impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication of both the coaches and athletes who he has met. Coach Adam has enjoyed running recreationally since high school and has completed several distance runs as an adult.

Coach Adam is certified by USATF as a Developmental Coach and he is SafeSport trained.

Coach Adam graduated from Cornell University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree and he is a registered architect. Coach Adam has worked as a Senior Project Manager for M. Cohen and Sons in Broomall since 2012.

Together with his wife Katie, daughter Audrey, and his son Parker, Adam enjoys hiking, skiing, and DIY projects around the house.

Executive Coach - Mentor

Kevin Tinneny

Coach Kevin has 8 years of track and cross country coaching experience in the Philadelphia CYO league. He has coached and officiated championship meets including the Penn Relays. He is certified by USATF as a Developmental Coach and he is SafeSport trained.

Coach Kevin also has 34 years of high school and club basketball coaching experience. He has a Varsity record of 137-45, and has earned numerous Coach of the Year Awards including: The Philadelphia Inquirer, Times Herald, and the Montgomery County News Paper. Coach Kevin has won 3 Catholic Academy Championships, 1 Inter-Ac Championship, and 5 AAU Mid-Atlantic Championships.

Off the track and basketball court, Coach Kevin is a proud husband and father. He is the Vice-President of Prudential Financial; a fortune 500 company, leading technology for U.S. businesses.
